(click the links below to order from Amazon)

Intellectual Capital - Lief Edvinsson & Michael s. Malone
The business definition of intellectual capital. One of the original books on the subject that shows the relevance of measuring all those things that accountants don't measure.

OVERVIEW OF LEARNING TO USE OUR BRAINS
Use Your Head - Tony Buzan
An excellent and brief overview of how to use our brains most effectively for learning and thinking. The material in here are the starting point for the Eurekazone TLC programme for schools. Covers Mind Mapping, Memory, and how to extract information from books effectively.

Lessons from the Art of Juggling - Tony Buzan and Michael J. Gelb
This book shows you how to juggle, and uses juggling as a metaphor for learning anyuthing. An introduction to the skill of coaching. Sets the culture and environment in which people have ideas and learn new material. Essential for everyone who wants to help others acheive.

Buzan's Book of Genius - Tony Buzan with Raymond Keene
The 100 greatest geniuses of all time. Includes some useful information on checking your own genius scores and on the different ways of thinking. Multiple intelligence tests.

Head Strong - How to Get Physically and Mentally Fit - Tony Buzan
Excellent book on mental and physical health. Includes the brain principles for thinking, learning and creativity, how to get the right inner talk, and the right brain foods. The brain principles apply to all aspects of life and help us to run any process in our heads, our business or our education most effectively. Great for potential coaches of peak mental and physical performance.

MIND MAPPING
The Mind Map Book: Radiant Thinking Tony Buzan
The most authoritative book on Mind Mapping from the source. Includes lots of ways of applying Mind Maps for Learning and Thinking and in Business for getting ideas and running meetings. Essential, if lengthy reading.

Get Ahead - Vanda North with Tony Buzan
A simplified workbook on Mind Mapping by an authority on the subject. Great if you want a half an hour introduction in a light hearted way. (from eurekazone)

Brain Power for Kids Lana Isreal with Tony Buzan
Written with children in mind by a young student of Mind Mapping. Examples for learning.

GETTING INPUT
The Speed Reading Book - Tony Buzan
Many books on speed reading contain incorrect information that hold back your speed. This one is guaranteed to help you increase your speed with techniques to read faster and smarter. These are the methods used by the world speed reading champion, Anne Jones, who runs most of our speed reading courses and until Anne brings out how own book it's the one we recommend!

Use Your Memory - Tony Buzan
A good introduction to memory techniques and how they work. Includes your natural memory rhythms. It's possible to get the basics from a book but you'll find you become more effective with a little coaching or by attending a training seminar where you'll pick up more about what works for you, and get good feedback about how to use your imagination.

Master Your Memory - Tony Buzan
Contains lots of facts to learn for more advanced users of memory techniques to practice. Not recommended as a beginers book.

How to Develop a Perfect Memory - Dominic O'Brian
If you really want to go to town on memory and start using it in competitions or for memorising vast amounts of information we'd recommend Dominic's book. You have to invest much longer in developing your memory system, but we find it is worth the investment.

THE BRAIN AND NLP
Brain Longevity - Dr Dharma Singh Khalsa with Cameron Stauth
Essentially a book about how the brain works, dealing with alzheimers, how to get your brain working better, and some excellent information about stress and its impact on the brain. I can recommend reading it but not the programme of medication. That is up to you and your doctor!

The Human Brain: A Guided Tour - Susan Greenfield
Easy to read book on the brain (well, as easy as I've seen) by an expert in her field. Not into medical detail but gives an overview of some interesting knowledge.

How Brains Think: Evolving Intelligence,... - William H. Calvin
Fascinating, but you have to stick wioth it. Gets very technical. Not especially practical in its application.

The Age Heresy - Tony Buzan and Raymond Keene
Dispelling the myth that we perform worse with age. If anyone tells you its easier for children to learn than adults then that's just not true. If you look after your brain and your body then they can improve with age. Find out how. It's definitely worth the read!

The Right Brain Time Manager - Harry Alder
Useful introduction to how you can put some of your underutilised "right brain" skills to work in the context of managing your time. Not the definitive book on the subject but we don't think that's been written yet! When read with a little imagination it can give you some ideas for how to include "right brain" skills, and get more out of your life!

Unlimited Power - Anthony Robbins
If its motivation or reorganising your life that you're after then its worth ploughing your way through this lengthy text. Better still, if you have plenty of cash to spare, buy the tapes or CD's and listen to them in your car. It can be a life changing experience.

Mindstore for Personal Development - Jack Black
A short but useful book applying the techniques of NLP (neuro linguistic programming) to improving the quality of your life. Not as extensive as "Unlimited Power" but you are likely to finish it in one session. Uses the power of imagination very well to relieve stress and create a clear vision for you.

Introducing NLP Neuro-Linguistic... - Joseph O'Connor and John Seymour
Good first read on NLP. There are more detailed practical books around but this is fairly detailed and provides an excellent overview.

THINKING AND CREATIVITY
Six Thinking Hats - Edward de Bono
Introduces six different modes of thinking. Great for running meetings and working with others or just analysing your own thinking. You don't need the hats!

Serious Creativity: Using the Power of Lateral Thinking to Create New Ideas - Edward de Bono
Lengthy tome and quite dry but a first rate "left brain" analysis of creativity. More interesting than fun. But first class.

Teach Your Child How to Think - Edward de Bono
A comprehensive book about thinking skills for adults and children! Our favourite introductory text on thinking skills. Covers all the main techniques including Six Hats, Lateral Thinking, Creativity and many others. Can be put into practice easily in the classroom, at work or at home.

Thinkertoys - Michael Michalko
Practical fun exercises to open up thinking and challenge the way things are normally done. Opens the mind if its already ajar. Not as useful if minds are still closed.

Head First!: You're Smarter Than You... - Tony Buzan
Introduction to the Intelligences - Creative, Personal, Social, Spritual, Physical, Sensual, Sexual, Numerical, Spatial, and Verbal. Or if you're particularly interested in a specific intelligence then try Tony's book on that Intelligence.

DRAWING - Useful for Mind Mapping
The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain - Betty Edwards
How to Draw Cartoons and Caricatures... - Usborne

TIME AND LIFE MANAGEMENT
