PLTS

Eurekazone have been invited to provide resources to support the new PLTS (Personal Learning and Thinking Skills) which will be in the new Diplomas from 2008/2009 and in the wider curriculum. It is something we have been campaigning for since 2001 and our TLC programme was our interpretation of what employers needed in their employees. The PLTS are similar to TLC. Eurekazone offer the opportunity to learn a set of skills to help you raise the self-esteem of students by improving their ability to learn and think. We are not here to teach you how to teach since you are the experts, but we can give you some great material to make your life easier and more fun.

Our inset training offers you the opportunity to help all pupils, regardless of learning style. Teachers are the experts at teaching. But we have a few things that have proved very effective in the classroom but which are not taught in teacher training colleges.

Better still, come on board with our TLC programme and make Thinking, Learning and Creativity a part of your curriculum. You benefit because it appeals across the wider spectrum of pupils and helps them to feel better about themselves by using learning strategies that work for them. It establishes the appropriate beliefs for learning, without which learning will not take place. And if feedback is anything to gop by, students of all types just love the fun environment created for learning. And we aim to give them a qualification in TLC too which will help them in all other subjects and in their working life.
But even better than this, you can start to implement these learning styles and strategies in other subjects.

Occasionally, we teach pupils. We think it is more effective to teach teachers. It's cheaper for schools that way and it makes sure that the learning reaches the maximum number of students. And we have great respect for anyone who can teach students every day. Wow!
